Shavone Williams joined Risa Heller Communications in August 2021 as a Vice President with its Real Estate & Land Use Practice. Most recently, she served as Vice President & Director of Media Relations at New York City Economic Development Corporation, where she executed strategic communications for an array of economic development projects, including the Sunnyside Yard Master plan and a host of other mixed-use developments and neighborhood rezonings, the City’s Life Sciences initiative, the NYC Ferry system and the Queens Small Business Fund.

Prior to that, she worked at New York City Department of Design and Construction, the City’s primary capital construction project manager for civic facilities, infrastructure and water main construction projects. In this role, she served as the agency’s spokesperson and liaison to the Mayor’s office. Earlier, she managed media relations and community development for the City’s only casino, Resorts World Casino New York City.

Shavone holds a Master of Arts in Public Relations from Hofstra University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting and Mass Communication from the State University of New York at Oswego.
